Chris Prinos: 1st place image, WPJA winter 2006 for Musicians and DJs

Here were the comments from the judges:

The interaction, the expressions and the skewed angle ALL convey the energy of the moment.

The band’s lead singer (on the far right) convinced Robin and her bridesmaids to sing along. This was our second wedding with this very fun family; we photographed Robin’s sister Pam’s wedding a year earlier.

This was one of two top-tens Chris was awarded in this competition, check out the scene-setter that took fourth place.

As always, the WPJA brought together a great set of judges for the competition:

  • Damon Winter, Photojournalist for the New York Times
  • David H. Wells, Photographer for magazines including Life and National Geographic
  • Ed Kashi, Photojournalist for publications including National Geographic and Newsweek
  • Brooks Johnson, Curator of Photography at the Chrysler Museum of Art
  • Tim Broekema, professor of Photojournalism / New Media at Western Kentucky University
